To investigate natural spontaneous menopausal age, menstruation span and their relationship with menarche age and parity in Pudong district of Shanghai. From Jan 2007 to Jul 2008, 15 083 spontaneous menopause women undergoing cervical cancer screening were enrolled in this study. The questionnaire included menarche age, parity, spontaneous menopaus...
School of Physics and Astronomy The physics department of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was initially established in 1928, and was one of the earliest physics programs in China. Starting from 2007, the University made a strategic decision to rebuild a first-class physics program and started to invest newly on several subfields of physics, such as particle and nuclear physics, laser & plasma physics. After further incorporating astronomy and astrophysics in the year of 2016, the department was renamed the School of Physics and Astronomy. The School currently has now sixty-six full professors and forty-three distinguished research fellows which is equivalent to tenure track assistant professors in the US system. It has seven research institutes. The School sets up its mission to meet the Chinese national strategic demands in physical sciences and related interdisciplinary fields. It strives to establish a world-class research-education center of physical sciences that aim to solve scientific problems of substantial importance and to cultivate next generation of leading physicists. At present, the School covers two first-class disciplines of physics and astronomy. It has become one of the three most comprehensive physics schools in C-9 group, one of the four physics schools who boast national collaborative innovation research centers, and one of the first batch of six pilot institutes in Shanghai Jiao Tong University to build the world-class universities. It is acknowledged as one of the most competitive, fastest-growing, and comprehensive physics colleges in China.
Objective: This research was carried out to investigate the effectiveness, rationality, and safety of laparotomy management compared with uterine artery embolization (UAE) combined with methotrexate (MTX) for the treatment of deep implantation cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP II). Materials and methods: Data from 29 patients seen between June 2008 and...
School of Mechanical Engineering The history of the School of Mechanical Engineering (ME) , Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) dates back to 1913. The School has the vision of a world-class engineering school committed to high-level education and cutting edge research. It aims to offer the best learning experience to its students, the most rewarding working environment for its faculty and staff as well as the most effective service to industry and society. Among the 334 faculty members, 124 are professors, 152 are associate professors and 58 are assistant professors, and more than 5000 students are learning here. As one of the top Schools of Mechanical Engineering in China, it strives to increase its international competitiveness and global presence through quality teaching, advanced research and close collaboration with leading universities in the world. The alumni from the School, as scientists, engineers, educators, statesmen and entrepreneurs, always make outstanding contributions to the innovation of science and technology, and the development of the society.
To evaluate the laparoscopic operation for early ovarian malignant tumor with low risk. Ten patients with ovarian malignant tumor who underwent laparoscopic total hysterectomy, pelvic lymph nodes dissection, bilateral adnexectomy, ovarian aortic and vein high ligation, omentectomy, and additional appendectomy. Eleven patients with the same diagnosi...
To investigate the effects of sulindac metabolites on proliferation and apoptosis in the human umbilical vein endothelial cell line ECV304 in vitro. The proliferation profile of ECV304 was determined by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) method. Cell cycle distribution, apoptosis and the ultrastructure of ECV304 were detected by flow cytometry (FCM...
To identify new genetic risk factors for cervical cancer, we conducted a genome-wide association study in the Han Chinese population. The initial discovery set included 1,364 individuals with cervical cancer (cases) and 3,028 female controls, and we selected a 'stringently matched samples' subset (829 cases and 990 controls) from the discovery set...
Objectives: The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship among the protein levels of MCM7, p63, and human papillomavirus (HPV) in different cervical lesion tissues and appraise their predictive value in evaluating severity of cervical disease. Methods: Twelve normal cervix or chronic cervicitis, 42 squamous intraepithelial lesions...

Golgi phosphoprotein 3 (GOLPH3), a newly recognized oncogene, is associated with tumor growth, metastasis, and poor prognosis in several types of cancer. However, its biological role and underlying mechanism in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) remain poorly understood. Here, we found that GOLPH3 was overexpressed in EOC tissues and cell lines. This...

Our previous study revealed that estrogen regulates nm23-H1 expression thus promoting cell migration-invasion via activating PIK3/Akt pathway. In this study, we explored the effect of hormone on hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1alpha), a key factor in cancer invasion and metastasis, via activation of Akt signaling transduction pathway. We treated t...
Neovascularization is essential for tumor growth and metastasis. An adequate vasculature feeds tumor growth and enhances the potential of metastasis. For many years, tumor vessels were thought to be lined exclusively by endothelial cells (ECs). However, therapeutic benefits from the promising antiangiogenic strategy targeting genetically stable ECs...
To compare the efficacy of combination regiments of taxol given weekly plus carboplatin and taxol given every three weeks plus carboplatin. To observe the toxicity of the two regiments. To observe the two-year survival rate in the two groups. Total 125 eligible patients in 13 centers of CGOG were entered into the two arms of this randomized clinica...
To investigate the correlation of hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1alpha and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) or micro-vessel density (MVD). The ovarian cancer cell line SKOV3 was transplanted into nude mice to form xenogeneic tumor. Mice were treated with rapamycin 4 mg/kg, sulindac 100 mg/(kg.d) and saline 200 microl respectively. Express...
Snail, a key inducer of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), plays an important role in cancer metastasis. To better understand the role of Snail in the metastasis of ovarian carcinoma, expression of Snail was knocked down by antisense-Snail in the highly metastatic ovarian cancer cell line HO8910PM. Gene array analysis revealed that blocking S...
