In Chinese grammar de hua (的话) is a very common and important word. It is used either alone or in combination with other words to express “if”. Because of this, all students of Mandarin Chinese should be familiar with how to use this word, and that's what this guide is for.

School of Media and Design Established in 2002, School of Media and Design (SMD) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University aims at educating a new generation of communication graduates who are not only equipped with critical thinking but also with creative capability. School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology The School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology was jointly founded by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Shanghai branch) in 1997.
