School of Biomedical Engineering The School of Biomedical Engineering (BME) aims to satisfy the major needs of global development and meet the demand for interdisciplinary programs between medicine, science, and engineering. Based on the current frontiers of international research, major national needs, interdisciplinary programs, and the existing foundation of SJTU, BME consists the following six disciplines: Biomedical Instrumentation, Neuroscience and Engineering, Medical Imaging & Informatics, Nano-biomaterials, Systems Biology & Medicine, and Biological Sciences & Diseases. BME has been dedicated in cultivating high-level research, development, and management talents that are internationally competitive in the field of biomedical engineering.
