Ovarian cancer is the most lethal malignancy of the female reproductive system with an overall mortality rate of greater than 70%. Our group has demonstrated that Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) stimulates the proliferation and invasion of ovarian cancer cells, inhibits apoptosis, and facilitates neovascularization by increasing expression of va...
To investigate the correlation of hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-1alpha and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) or micro-vessel density (MVD). The ovarian cancer cell line SKOV3 was transplanted into nude mice to form xenogeneic tumor. Mice were treated with rapamycin 4 mg/kg, sulindac 100 mg/(kg.d) and saline 200 microl respectively. School of Physics and Astronomy The physics department of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was initially established in 1928, and was one of the earliest physics programs in China. Starting from 2007, the University made a strategic decision to rebuild a first-class physics program and started to invest newly on several subfields of physics, such as particle and nuclear physics, laser & plasma physics. After further incorporating astronomy and astrophysics in the year of 2016, the department was renamed the School of Physics and Astronomy. The School currently has now sixty-six full professors and forty-three distinguished research fellows which is equivalent to tenure track assistant professors in the US system. It has seven research institutes. The School sets up its mission to meet the Chinese national strategic demands in physical sciences and related interdisciplinary fields. It strives to establish a world-class research-education center of physical sciences that aim to solve scientific problems of substantial importance and to cultivate next generation of leading physicists. At present, the School covers two first-class disciplines of physics and astronomy. It has become one of the three most comprehensive physics schools in C-9 group, one of the four physics schools who boast national collaborative innovation research centers, and one of the first batch of six pilot institutes in Shanghai Jiao Tong University to build the world-class universities. It is acknowledged as one of the most competitive, fastest-growing, and comprehensive physics colleges in China.
To compare the efficacy of combination regiments of taxol given weekly plus carboplatin and taxol given every three weeks plus carboplatin. To observe the toxicity of the two regiments. To observe the two-year survival rate in the two groups. Total 125 eligible patients in 13 centers of CGOG were entered into the two arms of this randomized clinica...
OCT4 plays a critical role in the maintenance of stem cell pluripotency and proliferation, and is overexpressed in multiple human tumors, including endometrial cancer. OCT4 expression can be modulated by miR-145 and the OCT4 pseudogene 5 (OCT4-pg5), which share similar binding sites in the OCT4 3'-untranslated region. The goal of the present study...
SJTU-ParisTech Elite Institute of Technology The SJTU – ParisTech Elite Institute of Technology (SPEIT) brings together the strengths of leading French Grandes Ecoles (Ecole Polytechnique, Mines ParisTech, Telecom ParisTech, ENSTA ParisTech) and of Shanghai Jiao Tong University to develop Sino-French research and innovation collaboration and to educate high-potential Chinese and international students to become industrial leaders and innovators with: • a broad-based scientific background • the ability to evolve in a multicultural business environment • a forefront knowledge in one specialty field: Information and Communication Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Power and Energy Engineering. SPEIT enrolled its first students in 2012. In 2013, SPEIT was inaugurated by preceding French President, Mr François Hollande. In 2015, it got the accreditation of French Commission des Titres d’Ingénieurs and EUR-ACE: SPEIT graduates are awarded French titre d’ingénieur, which is internationally acknowledged as an equivalent to a Master in Engineering Science. In June 2016, SPEIT was granted an excellent Sino-French collaboration award by Chinese Vice-Prime Minister and French Minister of Education.

On 3 September 2008, Atlantic Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company, agreed to buy China Huiyuan Juice for HK$17.9 billion at HK$12.20 per share, three times more than its closing price of HK$4.14 on the previous day. Its shares closed at HK$10.94 on that day.[4] The proposed takeover was subject to anti-monopoly review by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, which was scheduled to finish on 20 March 2009.[5] On 17 March, it was reported that Coca-Cola was considering abandoning the deal, as Chinese authorities insisted on relinquishing the Huiyuan brand name after acquisition.[6] On 18 March, the Ministry of Commerce disallowed the bid, citing market competition concerns.[7][8]
... This process takes place at the beginning of vascular development and during post-natal life (11,22). Myeloid cells and EPCs are recruited by pro-angiogenic or pro-inflammatory factors to the tumor vascular bed, where they differentiate into ECs and give place to neovasculature (23)(24)(25). Vasculogenesis has a modest impact on tumor vascularization when the angiogenesis pathway is active, however, it is recognized as an important rescue process when this pathway is blocked (10,26). For instance, when angiogenesis is inhibited after anti-angiogenic treatment or radiotherapy, myeloid cells, and EPCs are recruited by the stroma-derived factor 1 (SDF-1) in response to an increased level of hypoxia-inducible factor 1α (HIF-1α) (10,26). ...
School of Media and Design Established in 2002, School of Media and Design (SMD) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University aims at educating a new generation of communication graduates who are not only equipped with critical thinking but also with creative capability. The School consists of four departments: Journalism & Communication, Film & Television, Design, and Cultural Industry & Management. To date, SMD has more than 90 faculty members. About 25% of them earned their doctoral degrees in the U.S., U.K., and other western countries. SMD also hosts more than 700 undergraduates, 300 master students, and 100 doctoral students. There are currently 324 international students in the school. Among them 104 are master or doctoral students who come from 55 countries including the U.S., U.K., France, Australia, Russia, South Korea, Pakistan etc. Many of them graduated from world prestigious universities like Princeton University, University of Chicago, University of South California and University of California-Los Angeles.
