To investigate the inhibitory effect of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) inhibitor, sirolimus on expression of hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)1alpha protein and growth of ovarian carcinoma in an athymic mouse xenogeneic transplant model of ovarian cancer. Four groups of female nude mice were inoculated subcutaneously with SKOV3 cells. After...
To investigate natural spontaneous menopausal age, menstruation span and their relationship with menarche age and parity in Pudong district of Shanghai. From Jan 2007 to Jul 2008, 15 083 spontaneous menopause women undergoing cervical cancer screening were enrolled in this study. The questionnaire included menarche age, parity, spontaneous menopaus...
To study the expression of the human novel gene NM23-H1B in ovarian cancer. Forty-eight samples from patients with ovarian tumor at different clinical stages and 8 from normal ovaries were examined for NM23-H1B mRNA expression by using RT-PCR, northern blot and in situ hybridization. All samples expressed NM23-H1B mRNA through RT-PCR, while the lev...
p53 is the most commonly mutated tumor suppressor gene in human cancers. In addition to the loss of tumor suppression function and exertion of dominant-negative effects over the remaining wild-type protein, several p53 mutants can gain novel oncogenic functions (gain-of-function, GOF) that actively regulate cancer development and progression. In hu...

SJTU-ParisTech Elite Institute of Technology The SJTU – ParisTech Elite Institute of Technology (SPEIT) brings together the strengths of leading French Grandes Ecoles (Ecole Polytechnique, Mines ParisTech, Telecom ParisTech, ENSTA ParisTech) and of Shanghai Jiao Tong University to develop Sino-French research and innovation collaboration and to educate high-potential Chinese and international students to become industrial leaders and innovators with: • a broad-based scientific background • the ability to evolve in a multicultural business environment • a forefront knowledge in one specialty field: Information and Communication Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Power and Energy Engineering. SPEIT enrolled its first students in 2012. In 2013, SPEIT was inaugurated by preceding French President, Mr François Hollande. In 2015, it got the accreditation of French Commission des Titres d’Ingénieurs and EUR-ACE: SPEIT graduates are awarded French titre d’ingénieur, which is internationally acknowledged as an equivalent to a Master in Engineering Science. In June 2016, SPEIT was granted an excellent Sino-French collaboration award by Chinese Vice-Prime Minister and French Minister of Education.

China-UK Low Carbon College China-UK Low Carbon College was established in May, 2017, thanks to the joint efforts of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the University of Edinburgh and other UK universities, as well as Shanghai and Lingang government. As the first domestic low carbon college (LCC), the LCC aims to become a world-class innovative higher education and research institution with international influence, which provides academic programs, executive training, scientific research and industrial incubation. Green low-carbon development is an inevitable choice for China and the rest of the world to deal with global warming, a challenge that the whole world is facing. The college will concentrate on green development strategy, and carry out teaching and research on low-carbon energy, low-carbon environment, carbon finance, carbon management and low-carbon city etc. The goal of the LCC is to serve as a cradle of talents for low carbon industries and to support the development of low carbon fields with cutting-edge technologies. With the support from people in all walks of life, we are determined to develop the college as a first-class, industry-oriented and discipline-based institution. We strongly welcome the talents around the world who are interested in low carbon fields to join our college.
School of Pharmacy SJTU School of Pharmacy was founded in 2000, and now it has 85 academic, administrative and technical staff members. The School has 17 research and teaching laboratories covering the complete spectrum of curriculum and disciplines of pharmacy education and research including medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical microbiology & biochemistry, pharmacognosy, and traditional Chinese medicine. SJTU School of Pharmacy is a research-orientated institution. Its graduate student body, enrolled in Ph.D., M.Sc. and M.Eng. programs, is as twice larger as its undergraduate classes. Both of the undergraduate and graduate courses are given by individual research laboratories each consisting of a professor and two to four junior academic staffs. SJTU School of Pharmacy has not only developed scientific programs but also nurtured an educational and research environment that is liberal and innovation-orientated. The school has now become a leading institute and an ideal place for pharmacy education and pharmaceutical research in the nation.
Pyruvate kinase (PK) is a key enzyme in the process of glycolysis, catalyzing phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) into pyruvate. Currently, PK isozyme type M2 (PKM2), one subtype of PK, has been proposed as a new tumor marker with high expression in various tumor tissues. Here we aimed to explore the effects of siRNAPKM2 on ovarian carcinoma (OC) cell lines...
To investigate the inhibitory effects of Snail--a zinc finger transcription factor, anti-sense plasmid on the invasion of ovary carcinoma cell lines in vitro. Four human ovarian carcinoma cell lines ES-2, OVCAR3, HO8910, HO8910PM were analyzed for the expression of Snail and E-cadherin mRNA by RT-PCR. Then anti-Snail plasmid transfection was introd...
